Best baby bathtubs
This award-winning tub (MSRP $20, Amazon $16) is incredibly popular, and with good reason. It grows with your child, featuring a removable mesh hammock for newborns and two molded seats — a reclining one for infants and an upright one for babies who can sit up unassisted. This is not our favorite product for newborns, as the sling can suspend baby above the water (brr!). The seats feature slip-resistant foam padding, and the drain plug changes color if the water is too hot.
The PRIMO EuroBath (MSRP $33, Amazon $25) is also designed with two primary bathing positions: infant (reclining) and toddler. It is cleverly designed with arm and crotch molds to help keep baby supported in either position. Still, the bottom is a bit slippery, and there is no padding, so an additional towel or bath sponge is recommended for bathing newborns. The EuroBath is one of the largest infant tubs available; as a result, it may fit for longer, but may not be the best choice for smaller spaces. BPA, lead, and phthalate free.
The Stokke (formerly Prince Lionheart) Flexi Bath (MSRP $40) folds flat, making this tub a great choice for families who travel frequently and/or live in small apartments. It's marketed as appropriate for kids up to four years old, but reviewers say it is really only big enough for the first couple of years. A newborn support (sold separately, MSRP $15) is available. BPA, heavy metal, and phthalate free.
Pick for newborns and colicky babies: Tummy Tub
The womb-like shape of the Tummy Tub (MSRP $45) allows babies to curl into an upright fetal-like position while being enveloped from the neck down in warm water. The tub features an anti-skid base, fits well in the sink, and uses relatively little water. It's definitely on the pricey side, but is excellent for soothing colicky babies. BPA and phthalate free.
Best baby towels
These adorable, animal-themed hooded towels ($14 at Amazon) are made out of 100% cotton terry and are great value. They're reasonably thick and are generously sized (30x36"), so will last longer than many other baby towels.
These Zoo-themed towel and mitt sets (MSRP $24) include a 34x34” hooded towel made from 100% cotton terry and a coordinating wash mitt. The designs are cute and coordinate with the rest of the Skip Hop line.
Adorable, soft, and personalizable, PBK's critter wraps ($30 at Pottery Barn Kids) are made of 100% cotton terry and velour. At 31x23”, they're on the smaller side, but they're very thick (480g weight) and plush. Larger kid-sized versions (recommended for toddlers and up) are also available.
If you're looking for super soft and modern design, this organic hooded towel from SwaddleDesigns (MSRP $30, Amazon $29) is a great choice. It's made of 100% Turkish cotton terry velour with satin trim.
This apron-style hooded towel ($56 at Amazon) is ingenious — it ties around the parent's neck (like a kitchen apron) so you can pick your baby up hands-free and place her against your chest without getting your clothes wet, then folds back up to envelop your child fully and keep her warm. It's made of organic cotton and bamboo and is incredibly plush and absorbent.
Best baby bathrobes
If you’re looking for a good, basic bathrobe ($14 at Amazon) with great reviews from parents, consider this cute little number. It’s 100% cotton, fits up to nine months, and comes with matching slippers. It's available in various designs and colors.
